Healthy\, homemade food is just one class away for your child and the best part? They bring home dinner for their family at the end of class (four people)! Giving your child the ability to cook for themselves is one of the best investments you can make in your child. Class starts just after school and they’ll be ready with dinner-in-hand by 5:45 when you pick them up. We’ll give them a hearty snack and beverage when they arrive and we have everything they need to prepare this meal. No problem if they arrive a little early\, we’ll be waiting for them!

Chef Chris Irving spent a year working and living in Japan and learned to prepare traditional and fusion style Japanese Izakaya (pub food). \nWe will savour Japanese beverages including beer\, wine and sake\, while you test your hand at making gyoza\, korokke (potato croquette)\, onigiri (seaweed rice balls)\, tuna tataki and okonomiyake (a Japanese savory pancake containing a variety of ingredients). Japanese food has a reputation in the West as being formal\, expensive and difficult; but\, it doesn’t have to be any of those things. It can be cheap\, fun and simple. Izakaya Masters are very serious about their food\, but the atmosphere is all about enjoying yourself.

We’ll show your young cook how to make both\, and they’ll decide which one to make and take home for dinner. While the sauce is cooking\, they make salad with homemade dressing\, cook pasta\, and roast fruits for dessert to complete this delicious meal! \nPreparing your teen to launch (leave home) includes teaching them how to cook for themselves; a skill they will use for their entire life. Do you get frustrated trying to teach them just the basics of cooking? Relax\, we got this. Your teen will make a full dinner with us and take it home to feed their whole family! \nClass cost covers the entire meal for four people (additional portions can be purchased if your family is larger)\, all recipes\, one-on-one professional chef instruction\, welcome snack\, beverages while they are here. They’ll leave with the confidence to recreate this meal again for themselves and their family for the rest of their lives! \nIf your child is mature enough to be left home alone and use the stove\, then they’re old enough to take this class. No prior kitchen experience is necessary.
