Please be patient; mail from the Yukon takes longer to reach its final destination – usually 2 weeks to most places in Canada and longer for the United States and other international destinations.
Free for Yukoners willing to pick up the starter in person. Please understand that the cost of producing this starter is considerable and Chef Cat covers that out of her own pocket. To get your starter locally, please email chef@wellbread.ca One dried or active starter per household. Please share it freely after you receive it.
This is the “Yukon’s Sourdough Starter” and belongs to no one and everyone.
Chef Cat is the caretaker and educator of this sourdough. She devotes hundreds of hours of her time to it and pays for the ingredients used to produce the starter. The recipes are original to Chef Cat unless otherwise indicated. When you purchase the dried sourdough starter online, you will receive a confirmation email with instruction links on how to feed and care for your sourdough starter. From time-to-time we will update those files, so the link may not work from the confirmation email. If that happens, just head over to our sourdough webpage on this site and download the file for free from there.
